Our shaReholders

-
Alex Pekalski
Sharing knowledge, resources, and information with one another is a core behavior to fostering deeper social relationships… especially when working together towards an aligned goal or purpose. Humanity has a drive for social connection that is rooted in our biology. I care about enabling the human experience in all areas of my being, and care deeply about fostering well-being and rich human relationships towards a common purpose. This is why I am a shaReholder.

For a world full of, and dependent on People, we sure do make it hard for ourselves... It shouldn't be about money, power and non-stop digital transformation. It should be about caring about a common Purpose and each other thru responsible collaboration (shaRe).
We can do better. By Humanizing Business, shaRe gives us a better choice.
I have always believed in putting people first and doing the right thing. That’s why I pulled up a chair at Up2Go. It really is that simple. -

Pulling up a chair to the round table means first and foremost caring.
Coming from a Waldorf background, care, curiosity, and creativity were key focus points for development, both in the classroom and beyond. It was about creating a system where all children and young adults could thrive, rather than forcing them to conform to a predefined structure. These same systems that we are forced to comply with also exist in the workplace e.g. bureaucracy, which I see as 'unnatural' structures that push people to act against their natural instincts. So it was very refreshing to be able to be a shaReholder for something striving for a change (and not just profit). -

I’m an expert in data visualization and analytics and am always interested in how to present an organization’s data to people in an intuitive and useful way. Traditional visualizations like pie charts and bar charts don’t always cut it when the data is complex. But at Up2Go, we’re taking data from across the human condition and synthesizing that into a series of visualizations that can help humanize business; a profound challenge that I’m proud to be a part of.

The best early startups foster a culture of learning, transparency, autonomy, and intense collaboration, driven by a shared purpose that makes work deeply fulfilling. Scaling this natural way of working offers immense individual and societal benefits but has proven incredibly challenging. Solving this problem and working in this way is what attracted me to Up2Go.

Have you ever noticed we have different behaviors and expectations in our professional lives that would never work in our personal lives? Imagine having to establish approval processes and hierarchies to take a vacation with your friends or keeping KPI’s on the efficiency of chores!
“Human intelligence is dynamic”
In our personal lives we are creative and constantly learning and exploring; this is the way humanity has evolved and survived. Humans crave fulfillment and connection with each other. I believe, as humans, we want in our professional “lives” the same freedom and fulfillment we get in our personal lives.

To me, Humanizing Business is all about achieving balance and alignment of hopes and needs in the world that surrounds me. It’s about belonging to and participating in everything I am an essential part of, including my job, my family, my friends…they’re all intertwined and intricately connected to me.
When you walk through life with open eyes and an open mind, you will eventually realize that your participation in the world around you matters more than your guidance or your compliance.
My mantra:
Give more than you take,
Listen more than you speak,
Learn more than you teach.

As a shaReholder at Up2Go, I bring natural responsibility back into collaboration. This means aligning diverse information to create the best value for our purpose of “Humanizing Business”.
I am passionate about building individual relationships, dealing with different personalities, and having the freedom to move things forward. Responsibility is part of my everyday life, and I aim to inspire the same natural behavior we all show in our personal lives within our work. -

“The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” - Denis Waitley
It is a privilege for me to work at a company that offers such gifts to its shareholders. In my opinion, they aren’t just for children, but for everyone. I’m passionate about supporting our purpose to help other companies and institutions implement a more independent and responsible way of work. Let’s continue working together to extend these gifts to as many people as possible.

To me as a shaReholder, human fulfillment doesn’t come from simply being occupied in a daily job; it comes from being encouraged to take responsibility for something truly meaningful. Only when individuals are empowered to participate in a shared purpose can they fully contribute their strengths toward achieving a common goal and taking care of each other.

shaRe’s approach to eliminating hierarchical structures and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment is truly revolutionary. What stands out most about shaRe is the genuine focus on individual well-being, growth, and the freedom to innovate. This creates a dynamic workplace where every idea has the potential to drive change and that allows every shaReHolder to thrive, take responsibility, contribute meaningfully, and feel a profound sense of belonging.

Care. Care for others and caring about what you do and how you do it in all aspects of everyday life are at the core of how I believe we can make an impact on how we live and work together.
Our pursuit of Humanizing Business requires a system which scales digitally. shaRe and my personal commitment to shaRe is about fostering that system in order to create an impact at a large scale.

I am a shaReholder because I want to be part of a development that places people and their needs back at the center of every decision.

Work-Life balance always struck me as a strange concept. It suggests that you "have no life" when you work.
To me, pursuing Humanizing Business aims to make well-being a part of work, not something you can afford (or not) because of work.

“The business of business is relationships; the business of life is human connection. “ - Robin Sharma
Just as human connection is at the very core of a meaningful life, relationships are the true foundation of organizations. To me, Humanizing Business means focusing on human interactions, backed up by technology supporting the natural behavior of humans.

I am a shaReholder, a mother, a wife, sister, friend, neighbor, cowgirl, caretaker, teacher and volunteer. These responsibilities all represent the many purposes I serve on any given day. I love having the opportunity to live my purpose in the world seamlessly. I believe everyone should have the freedom to pursue their purpose(s) in all aspects of their life and take responsibility for the things they care most about, without fear or apology. With that freedom comes the confidence to express our authentic selves and engage meaningfully in our lives. I pulled up a chair with Up2Go because I believe all humans should have that opportunity.

Being a shaReholder brings me fulfillment and enables me to fully engage in the human experience. It empowers me to work from my heart with passion and care, cultivate meaningful relationships, learn from and share with others, and contribute to a purpose bigger than myself. Additionally, shaRe deepens my awareness of our interconnectedness, helping me to clearly visualize relationships and understand the impact of our actions.

In the modern post-Covid business landscape, many young adults entering the workforce are coming to the same realization: we don’t want to work like our parents. No, that doesn’t mean “no one wants to work anymore”. It means people are tired of watching the gears of bureaucracy crush the human spirit. People are tired of working hard over long hours, only to be dehumanized as a number on a spreadsheet while receiving inadequate compensation for their work and watching others take advantage. There has to be a different way. A better way. This is the promise that shaRe represents and is what compelled me to pull up a seat at the roundtable. By stepping back from traditional bureaucracy and embracing organic human interaction, we can create communities of care that allow for the sharing of resources and the development of institutional knowledge, providing immense benefits not only in the workplace but in all facets of life.

Operating in an organization that is people-driven, with a purpose that is higher than a salary is why I pulled up, or more rather, kept my chair at this table. In my experience, the traditional culture of work was molded by a command-and-control, bureaucratic structure that ultimately promoted a culture of machine-like human actions.. a culture that kills natural human tendencies that would otherwise flourish under different conditions.
shaRe fosters our natural tendencies of curiosity, creativity, teamwork and learning with a digital operating system designed by people for people… and it turns out to have major benefits. Ask me how. I’d love to share our story with you.

I pulled up a chair at Up2Go because I truly believe that work is just one part of my overall well-being. In my opinion, the concept of "work-life balance" is misleading - there is nothing to balance between life and work. It's about balancing the things I care about! I believe we can dramatically change the world of work. As Margaret Mead once said, “Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.”

Tim Kloote
To me, shaRe is about finding purpose in my work by encouraging us to take responsibility for what truly matters. It fosters a sense of meaningful contribution where collaboration drives progress. As a visual learner, I appreciate how shaRe helps us clearly see our shared purpose and collaborative efforts, much like the natural world around us.
-

For me, Humanizing Business means putting people and their needs at the heart of every decision. Work and life are not opposites, but rather complement each other. By leveraging technology that supports natural human behavior, I aim to contribute to creating a work environment where well-being is an integral part of success. Through the shaRe methodology, which emphasizes removing unnecessary bureaucracy, I see the opportunity to foster a culture that promotes genuine relationships and sustainable success through human connection.
